late-fall

Dear Ohio Amish Country Enthusiast,

It's so hard to believe that Thanksgiving is already in the past, that Christmas will be here in just weeks - and then a new year will once again overtake us!

We've still not had much snow, just a couple quick flurries that didn't amount to much. There have been some interesting temperature swings from warm to cold & back again. But, Thanksgiving Day was absolutely beautiful.

We'll have to wait and see if we get a white Christmas. Some in the know are saying we here in Ohio will have colder winter temperatures than last year and possibly more snow.

late-fall-laundry To be honest, it wouldn't take much to be colder and have more snow than last year. Last year was sort of the winter that - well, that wasn't!

One thing that has always seemed to hold true about our weather here is, that if you don't like it . . . wait a few minutes and it will change.

Fortunately, Christmas doesn't depend on snow or the weather. And, like just about everywhere else, there will be lots of shopping, sales, events and activities in Ohio Amish Country.

amish-barn But, unlike many other places, there seems to be a different attitude, a different mentality. There's a unique Christmas Spirit that seems to permeate many of the shops and businesses.

There's a greater awareness and acknowledgement of the real reason for the season - the true meaning of Christmas - that Christ came to earth to give Himself and share the Father's love with us!

So, take some time, actually - make some time, this Christmas season to come and experience Ohio Amish Country and all that it has to offer!

Remember - if you need a little help navigating around Ohio Amish Country, we strongly advise that you get an Ohio Amish Country map.

We encourage you to take time for family & friends and make some new family memories - maybe even in Ohio Amish Country!

No matter where you are or where you go, don't forget to celebrate the real meaning of the holiday. Take time this season to reflect on the Christ of Christmas!
