Fredericksburg Ohio is a little town nestled in a valley in the southern township of Salt Creek in Wayne County.

It lies in the heart of the world's largest Amish settlement and is a mere stone's throw from Holmes County.

Though small in size (the 2000 census shows that Fredericksburg boasts a population of 487 people, 184 households, 128 families and encompasses all of .3 square miles) some big things happen here.

You can visit an actual working blacksmith shop or try their unique car AND buggy wash.

But bigger yet, the area is home to Mrs. Miller's Homemade Noodles and Jams factory and Dutch Country Produce.

Both of these companies reportedly gross between 5 and 10 million (yes million) dollars annually.

Fredericksburg was founded by - Jacob Frederick in 1824. It was incorporated as a village in 1867.

Today, it offers visitors a taste of old and new, of English and Amish and the unique blend of these two very different cultures.

There are no state highways running through Fredericksburg. The nearest (about 4 miles away) is State Route 83 which runs from Wooster to Millersburg.

Though perhaps not a destination in itself, Fredericksburg is worth the detour if your in the area.
