Experience Ohio Route 39 Trip
Ohio Route 39 runs east and west through the heart of Amish Country.
You can start in Dover, New Philadelphia or take exit 83 off of Interstate 77 and travel west through Tuscarawas and Holmes Counties.
You'll be passing through the must-see areas of Sugarcreek, Walnut Creek, Berlin and Millersburg!
You can shop around Sugarcreek in the morning and then get lunch in Walnut Creek.
We especially like grabbing a bite to eat at
Walnut Creek Cheese. Don't forget to try their ice cream and browse their other shops!
From there you can shop around Walnut Creek and/or head down the road to Berlin.
You may consider coming back to Walnut Creek for dinner at the Der Dutchman and even spend the night in the area.
There are also some great lodging places around Walnut Creek.
Either way, you probably won't make it past Berlin in one day. This trip is easily a two or even three day trip if you really want to experience everything possible.
So, spend the night somewhere nearby and get an early start the next day. You can continue on this route to Loudonville or even all the way to Interstate 71 near Mansfield.
If you're coming to Amish Country from the west consider starting in Loudonville and working your way east. You still may want to stay over in Berlin in order to have enough time to take it all in.
Going this way on SR 39 you'll end up at Interstate 77 and the Dover, New Philadelphia area. From there, you can head north to Canton and Akron.
