I have experienced Mrs. Yoder's in Mt. Hope and have had their grape pie! You are right. It was fabulous! The best time to visit is when they have a scheduled auction and flea market across the way. All the local farmers descend upon the area and they have some great sale items.
I also have stepped into Berlin Bulk Foods before. Each time I am there, I cannot avoid that store because of the friendly owners and of course their cinammon balls! They are so delicious - and very addicting! Their spice selection is great!
It is a wonderful area to visit and to spend some time checking out the local stores and services that are offered! And you are right about it seeming like a step back in time!
