Experience US Route 62 Trip

route-62-exit-104-sign

US Route 62 traverses Ohio Amish Country from Stark County to Knox County.

You can start in Canton, Ohio and take the US 30 West/US 62 South (exit number 104) off Interstate 77.

Just south of Massilon, Ohio, US 62 splits off US 30, joins SR 21 and heads directly south to Navarre. Here it splits off SR 21 and heads west toward Brewster.

You may want to take a slight detour by heading on into Brewster on County Road 319.

In Brewster you'll find Brewster Dairy, the largest manufacturer of Swiss Cheese in North America.

They have a shop where you can purchase their award winning cheese and even grab an ice cream cone.

While there, you'll also find Shearer's Foods where they make their famous snacks & chips.

You can watch an educational video to see their products made and purchase some goodies for the road in their shop.

To rejoin your original trip simply take SR 93 south out of town where it shortly rejoins US 62 and heads toward Wilmot, Stark County's gateway to Amish Country. Here you can experience all that the Amish Door complex has to offer.

From there, you're just a stone's throw from Holmes County. US 62 will take you through Winesburg and on into Berlin, where there's more to do than time permits.

In Berlin, US 62 merges with SR 39 and heads west into Millersburg. In Millersburg it splits off SR 39 and joins SR 83 to go south once again.

A little south of Millersburg US 62 splits away from SR 83 and takes you on into Killbuck. The Holmes County Trail follows along side of it from Millersburg to Killbuck.

From Killbuck US 62 will take you basically west to Brinkhaven and on to Danville, where it is only about another 50 miles to Columbus.

Of course, if you're coming from Columbus, you can just follow US 62 (from Interstate 670) northeast in the opposite direction and end up in Canton.

Either way, there are places to spend the night, get great meals and shop to your heart's content. _________________________________________________________________
