Experience Wilmot Ohio
Wilmot Ohio is a small, charming, country village tucked away in the very southwest corner of Stark County. The population was 304 at the time of the 2010 census.
Founded in 1836, it is neatly bordered by Holmes, Tuscarawas and Wayne Counties.
As you follow US 62 southwest toward Wilmot you'll find the surrounding countryside begins to gently roll away as farmland, pastures and woodland merge with the horizon.
Just north is the Wilderness Center, a nonprofit institution dedicated to preserving and protecting 1700 acres of beautiful forests, fields and streams. It is open daily from dawn till dusk.
Just west of Wilmot is one of our favorite furniture stores - Green Acres Furniture. They have some of the most helpful and friendly staff you'll find anywhere.
They are designers, manufacturers, and retailers of high-end hardwood furniture, and carry high quality upholstery furniture as well.
During their Customer Appreciation Days they often serve homemade Amish cheesecake - some of the best we've had!
Of greatest notoriety is the Amish Door Village with restaurant, banquet facilities, shops, a bed and breakfast and a luxurious 52 room inn with indoor heated pool.
The Amish Door Restaurant has been family-owned and operated by the Miller family since 1977.
It is an award winning restaurant featuring traditional and Amish kitchen cooking with a choice of menu or family-style dining.
The aroma of home-baked breads, pies and pastries will lure you over to the bakery. Don't miss the creamy homemade fudge and freshly made cookies as well.
While you're there, check out the gift shop, bulk food store, deli and ice cream counter.
They also feature regular live entertainment and well-known Gospel singing groups. Amish Door just about has everything!
