Amish Buggy Day Trip

Begin your day in Charm with breakfast at Grandma’s Homestead Restaurant. If it happens to be Charm Days weekend, there will be even more buggies than usual in Charm.

After breakfast, visit Keim Lumber, the Harness Shop, etc. (corner of Rte 70 and Rte 557)

Drive west on Rte 557 -- stop at Guggisberg Cheese.

Follow Rte 557 (Rte 356) to Rte 62 – turn right into Berlin. If desired, visit the many gift shops there and/or have lunch.

At main intersection in Berlin, follow Rte 62 left.
Bear left on Rte 77 and visit Heini’s cheese and gift shops (a light lunch could possibly be cheese samples).

Travel north on Rte 77 (lots and lots of buggies).
Continue north and road changes to Rte 363 to “T” end.
Turn right (Rte 79) on Emerson Rd to Kidron.

Visit Lehman’s Old Fashioned Hardware & General Store and/or Amish Flea Market across street.

Leave Lehman's and head south on Kidron Road to Rt 250.

Turn left on Rt 250, follow to right on Rt 62. Follow Rt 62 to left on Rt 515 to Trail.

If not too late in the day, visit the Trail Bologna store.

Continue to follow Rt 515 to der Dutchman Restaurant in Walnut Creek for dinner.

This is the greatest day trip I have ever experienced in my whole life. I've seen more horses and buggies on this drive than I've ever seen on all the others I've done in several other states. Everyone should try this at least once in their life. Thanks so much for sharing this post.
